My Favorite Food

WALT create a quality blog post that is ‘perfect’ and shares your favourite food!
My favorite food is candy floss. I like it because it is so sticky and sweet, I only get to eat it as a treat when I go to the movies. I like to eat popcorn with my candy floss. I found it easy to talk about my favorite food.

Do you like candy floss?

Rippa Rugby

WALT play Rippa Rugby

Yesterday we had Bodean from Northland Rugby come to our kura to teach us about Rippa rugby.

My buddy was Harley-James and he couldn’t catch me because I am super speedy.

It was so cool.  I learnt how to roar like a tiger in our warm up game which was heaps of fun.

Sharks

Whaea Jade found some cool seaweek resources and I decided I wanted to learn more about sharks.

Here is a short video of what I learnt after watching and listening to a YouTube video about sharks:

Explanation Writing using our School Values

WALT write an explanation piece using our school values.

I chose to write about Kaitiakitanga – Caring for the Environment

Here is my piece of writing I worked on with Whaea Reyna and Whaea Kiran:

Kaitiakitanga or caring for the environment means looking after our community and the environment. At Paparore School we keep the playgrounds clean and tidy from rubbish. If we see rubbish lying on the ground we show kaitiakitanga by picking it up and putting rubbish in the bin and not littering. Te Kauru kids are kaitiakitanga for our school by doing all the rubbish, sorting the bins, recycling the paper and cardboard and putting the food scraps in the pig bucket. We show kaitiakitanga as a school over at Lake Ngatu by planting  native trees and shrubs. We also pick up rubbish at Ninety Mile beach to keep our beaches clean and ocean waters free from pollution. If we don’t keep it clean our fish and kaimoana would die off and there would be no more food for everyone to catch and eat.

Coopers Beach Camp 2023

My favorite part of camp was going down the water slide. When I was at the top I was a little bit scared. The water was cold when I sat down. I used my arms to push myself there were sprinklers on the way down. The water slide was so much fun.

We went on a hike up Rangikapiti-Pa. It was a long bumpy walk. I was at the back and we got a bit lost. When we got to the end of the trail we didn’t know which way to go. Luckily Lance came and found us so we didn’t go the wrong way like Whaea Jade.

Making pikelets

WALT make pikelets.

Every Tuesday I get to cook or bake something with two of my classmates and Whaea Kiran.

I made pikelets with Nathanael and Te Miringa.

We had to mix everything in a bowl and then we cooked them in the pan.

On top of our pikelets we put butter and jam.  They were gooooood!

We shared them with our class and Whaea Jade.

What do you like to put on your pikelets?  I also like nutella.
